New Professor Teaching Orientation

Centre for Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer the New Professor Teaching Orientation for anyone with teaching responsibilities on campus. The primary aim of the series is to provide participants with the ability to make informed decisions about their teaching practice. We will guide you through a course design process that enables you to develop and align: learner outcomes, instructional strategies, and assessment strategies.  The program is intended to provide foundational understanding, or in some cases reinforce understanding, of principles of good course design and delivery. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet new colleagues from across the campus.

CTL's New Professor Teaching Orientation consists of a half-day orientation mid August or early December (for new professors) followed by three short gatherings throughout the Fall Term or Winter Term.

Follow-up Consultations
For those who attend our orientation, CTL provides follow-up, one-on-one consultations with experts in instructional design and curriculum development. During these consultations, you’ll have the opportunity to receive feedback on the work you did during the orientation. Please contact to schedule a consultation.
